DRC natural resources press review of Tuesday, October 1, 2013

Radio Okapi reports that the DRC and Brazil signed last week in Brazil a partnership agreement in the field of the fight against deforestation through the project to reduce carbon emissions from deforestation and forest degradation ( Redd ) . Bavo N'sa Mputu , Minister of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Tourism , says that Brazil is already well advanced in the implementation process of Redd .
 On the same subject, the Soft International says that the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries took place on September 17 at the Brazilian Ministry of the Environment in Brasilia and stressed that the two largest tropical countries of the world s ' agreed to strengthen their cooperation climate .
 The Congolese News Agency ( ACP ) informs that the first edition of " Katanga AGRIMINES Expo 2013" under the theme " Reviving agriculture in Katanga Mining and modernization" , was held from Friday 27 to Sunday, September 29 at the Grand karavia Hotel Lubumbashi. This fun event has allowed the various mining companies and other agro -pastoral organizations to promote their products and services in the mining and agricultural sectors.

For the record , the newspaper said , an agreement was signed between formerly National Power Corporation (SNEL ) and the General quarries and mines ( Gecamines ) . This provision required the use by SNEL facilities Gecamines . In compensation, Gecamines was exempted from paying bills electricity consumption. With enterprise reform Portfolio state , SNEL has been transformed into a commercial company . Provision that will challenge convention. In the negotiations , SNEL has erased its debt vis-à- vis the Gecamines , and payment of electricity consumption back to normal . In other words, Gecamines was , as in the past , to fulfill its obligations to SNEL .
