Over four hundred artisanal miners invaded gold for nearly one year seven square kilometers of the concession of the mining company Ashanti Gold Kilo ( AGK ) in Djugu (Eastern Province) . In a meeting with local communities Mongwalu , held Saturday, November 30 , the company officials have asked the miners to leave this part of the concession and "go operate elsewhere" , informs Radio Okapi . The head of the City of Mongwalu , Jean Pierre Bikilisende says that the suspension of work in gold prospecting by AGK for nearly a year has pushed these miners to return to the abandoned this area.
The same media also informs about thirty farmers Maxeme village , 60 kilometers on the axis - Kasenga Lubumbashi ( Katanga ) denounce the occupation of their land for a week by a farmer . According to Jeanne Kyungu , the delegate of the peasants, this lady accompanied police chased them all claiming that these farmers have illegally invaded his concession.
